Recipes 6 December, 2018

Many celebrations are just around the corner, and this is the perfect time to try a new recipe. Our homemade Jam has just three ingredients and is an excellent choice for breakfast toast. It will fill your home with a delicious strawberry aroma, plus it can become a special gift for loved ones this holiday season.

Cooked over low heat, when ready we will pour the jam into glass jars perfect for decorating. Best of all, since you can reuse the glass jar for storing other food or for more jam, you will be giving a gift hand made by you that won’t create waste that may contaminate our environment. Let’s cook!

Homemade Strawberry Jam

2 pounds of strawberries
¼ cup lemon juice
1-¼ cups sugar

First, wash the jars and the lids in warm soapy water, then place them in the Queen Cooker 8 L and add water until they are covered completely. Boil for 30 minutes.

Wash and cut the strawberries into cubes, then mash them using the Masher from our Kitchen Tool Set, leaving some small pieces of fruit. You will love the texture!

Add the mashed strawberries, the sugar, and lemon juice to the 4 Litre from our Zylstra Series Chef I Set. Cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly for the first 15 minutes and occasionally for an hour more.

Remove the jars from the water, fill them with the jam, leaving some space at the top, and screw on the lids, finger-tight, only. Tightening too much can prevent the jars from sealing properly. Place the jars back in the hot water in the Queen Cooker and boil for 15 more minutes.

Remove and let cool, and you will have delicious Homemade Strawberry Jam perfect to enjoy by yourself or to give as a special gift.
