Cooking time

  • 5 green apples

  • 1 ½ cups flour

  • ⅓ cup of brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • ¼ tablespoon of salt

  • ¾ cup of milk

  • 1 egg

  • ⅓ cup of water

  • ¾ cup of milk

  • ½ cup of sugar

  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

  • 8 tablespoons of melted butter

  • 1½ tablespoons baking powder

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • Butter to grease utensil

  • ¼ cup chopped almonds

  • Powdered sugar

  • Vanilla ice cream

  • Start by removing the peel from the apples and slicing them into medium pieces. Place the apples in a bowl and add brown sugar, ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and water. With the help of a Spoonula, combine these ingredients until they are well incorporated.
  • In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, sugar, vanilla extract, and remaining 6 tablespoons of melted butter. Whisk the ingredients using the Combination Whisk from your Kitchen Tool Set. Finally, add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until the flour is fully incorporated, being careful not to overbeat.
  • Did you know that you can bake with Rena Ware cookware? Grease the Large Frypan with butter, add the cake batter, then top it with the apples and chopped almonds. Bake the cake at 350°F (177°C), for about 1 hour. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the cake, if it comes out clean and the apples are golden brown, your cake is done.
  • Using oven mitts, carefully remove the utensil from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with some powdered sugar on top and serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
